Blue Walk Riverside 1 1/2 miles
An easy riverside walk with only one hill!!
Green Walk Steep but magnificent 2 miles
Quite a steep walk to begin with, but well worth the effort for the magnificent views. The route follows footpaths through Low Row pasture until finally returning through 'Hazel Brow front field'. The pasture around the village provides open grazing for cattle and sheep who have right of way, even on the roads.
Purple Walk
Approx. 8 miles (12.5Km)
Should take 3 to 4 hours plus stops
An exhilarating, high level walk with magnificent views and beautiful scenery; an initial climb is soon rewarded with outstanding vistas. Dependant on the season, time of day, weather conditions and luck, you could see pheasant curlew, grouse, lapwing, golden plover, kestrel, merlin, wheatear or ring ouzel (upland blackbird). The far side of the walk passes through an old lead mining area where you can see examples of where the mines were entered, how they were drained the remnants of a peat store and an explosives building. You can also wander around the building remains of a Lead Smelting Mill.
